What is your favorite shooting range?

I’m curious about everyone's favorite shooting range. Whether it’s the vibe, the staff, or just how close it is, I’d love to hear what you like about it. What’s your go-to spot?

My favorite shooting range is behind my shop. No more city living after I retired. Life is good.

I'm lucky enough to be able to shoot anywhere I desire off my deck. But I travel once a month to Alhmans Guns in Morristown Mn.

Me too- often right from the front porch.. from the manure pile in the barnyard it's 811 yards to the full size buffalo silhouette, and got a nice berm in the old sand pit for handgun stuff, but we often go to the Virginia Rifle & Pistol club range just north of Virginia off Hwy 53. The boys shoot a lot of steel action matches there, I'm more Cowboy stuff, buffalo guns and muzzleloaders

I live in an apartment with long hallways....never mind, the neighbors would probably object.

The most convenient is an indoor 25 yd range. decent as indoor ranges tend to get, but they allow center fire rifles and shotguns. both plugs and muffs are necessary, and I tend to not spend a whole lot of time there.

I don’t generally care for indoor ranges. They seem to draw the “tactical” crowd, who think that they’re “operators,” and refer to their latest “build” or “precision build,” on their favorite “platform.” Uh, OK.

New generation(s), but they tend to be the same type of folks who spent the 1980s reading SOF magazine. No thanks!

One range that's been mentioned here has great potential, but is absolutely filthy. If you can't get your slovenly customers to pick up after themselves… I guess you'll have to pay someone to do it. I don't want to go shooting where it's full of trash, etc. YMMV.

Here are two great clubs- clean, well-run, variety of programs, involved in youth education/safety programs, etc. I’m a past member of one, and have been involved in teaching youth safety training at both clubs.

Stock and Barrel in Chanhassen. Pistol, Rifle, up to a .50 and 00 buck shotgun. Great range officers and lots of training options. Been a member since they opened in 2017.
