Seems to me the venerable 1911 in .45, the Browning Hi Power and it’s modern clones were proven during use in WWI & WWII in all kinds of nasty freezing weather. Most quality revolvers such as the Ruger Security Six and others do well and are highly reliable in cold and freezing conditions. Concealed carry in the winter is much easier with these larger pistols.
I am not a fan of striker fired polymer pistols and prefer metal frame guns. Aluminum frames are acceptable but my individual preference is steel.
