Has anyone here compared Cerakote and nitriding on well-used pistols? I'm curious about which one holds up better over time.

I think nitriding lasts longer since it hardens the metal. Cerakote looks great and resists rust but you'll see holster wear pretty quick. If it's a pistol I'm gonna use a lot, I will always choose nitrided.

When it comes to finishes, I’m leaning toward Cerakote. On paper, nitriding lasts longer, but I’ve seen Cerakote hold up way better on guns that get daily carry, especially against wear and rust.
