For those who collect early pistols, which model do you think stands out the most? Is it the New Service, classic Luger, SAA, the C96, the Colt, the C-93, or the FN 1903?
Luger definitely takes the crown for iconic status. The toggle action is something you won’t find anywhere else, and the craftmanship on the early Lugers is simply amazing. It’s one of those pistols that even those who aren’t gun enthusiasts can spot instantly.
"King" ?? ??
I don't know what I would put that label on...
Trivia.... Years ago I found something quite ...unique... A S&W tripple lock (?)(early 1900s?) in 45 long colt caliber marked NWMP. Canadian ...North West Mounted Police... This before they changed to RCMP, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (1920)... It shot as good as any modern revolver at the time I found it.. I gave it to my big brother the S&W collector..
