I have been daydreaming lately about my ideal rifle build. For me, it's a slick bolt-action with a smooth trigger, topped with glass that holds zero like a champ. Something I could take hunting or just stretch out on the range. What about y'all, what's your dream setup?

My dream build's a light AR with a free-float handguard, clean trigger, and great LPVO. It is good for hunting or reaching out a few hundred yards, it is always changing in my head, though

I have often thought about building a 20 ARC, in the AR15 platform topped with a nxs5.5-22 to shoot 55gr Bergers.

My ....most memorable.... rifle was a 1950s Husqvarna bolt rifle (for the European market) in 30-06 US caliber with an older Leupold fixed 6X scope.. My big brother and I both had this set up when we were young guys, hunters, guides, ranchers and the like.. We were a force to not be ...underestimated...

If I had use, needed something today.. I would go with a 308 Win ...Scout... rifle of one sort or another..

Of all the ....Bubba.... rifles I refurbished into useable hunting rilfes... My ultimate ...day dream... rifle was to build a 375 Taylor (375/338Win mag) North American dangerous, heavy game carbine.. 375 Taylor, 375/338Win = 375 H&H power on a standard Mauser (30-06) length action..

Savage 99C .308 with see thru mounts topped with a Vortex 3-9 scope. At 50 yards can cover three shots with a nickel.
Benched.

This one was.. I built this J.P.Gemmer style buffalo gun on an original 1869 Remington No.1 rolling block action, Green Mountain barrel, chambered in 50-70 Govt. It's always performed just as I hoped it would, gave it to my oldest son , so now working on another Gemmer. This one is on an original 1865 Spencer action. Hope to finish it up this winter.

Mine's a lightweight AR. Something that’s easy to carry when I’m out looking for coyotes, but still a blast to shoot at the range. I’m thinking about going with a 16" barrel, a lowpower variable optic, and a crisp single-stage trigger. It might not have the smoothness of a bolt-action, but it totally fits my vibe. Speaking of bolt-actions, I’ve always dreamed of building a .308 with a fluted barrel and a stock that just hugs me. Top it off with a Vortex or Leupold scope and keep it looking sleek. That would be perfect.
