Grease vs oil

What’s the best lubricant for storing firearms in freezing conditions, grease or oil? I’m curious to know if you’ve seen any effects on performance or corrosion resistance over time.

My small experience with any kind of ....grease.... in firearms I have had was not good.. I have always used ...oil... of one kind or another.. This thought being reinforced by the info I learned from the old retired Federal Cartridge chemist..

However.. I did use copper anti sieze compound on an old Remington 12ga choke tube to good success..
