Are ticks really a threat in this area?

I just moved to Minnesota and I'm hearing mixed things about ticks here. How dangerous are they really, and should I be worried about Lyme disease or other illnesses?

I don't do much outdoorsy stuff in MN, but have a summer cabin in Wisconsin. Very similar environment, and YES ticks are a problem. always check yourself over after being in the woods.

Yes deer ticks and associated pathogens are a problem. Been treated for Lyme’s 4 times now. Son has had Lyme’s as well. We are vigilante but those dang buggers are a nuisance.
