Red dot or iron sights

Are you still a newbie? If so, I really think you should focus first on practicing your draw and presentation. The dot won’t help if you’re fishing for it every time you come up on target. But once you get that muscle memory down, it’s a huge confidence booster.

I just put a red dot reflex on my Optima Black Powder pistol. I got it shot in yesterday and love it. Its a stand-hunting pistol. I'd suggest checking out the different dot sizes and choose one that will work best for what you intend to do with the gun. I went with a 2moa dot because I did not want the dot size to cover too much of the bull on a 50 yard target.

I have RD's on several pistols and rifles. The hardest to learn was to trust the dot.
